Moving this week!

Soo you might have heard that 91X is moving. Along with our sister stations, Magic 92.5 and Z90, we are moving to sceanic Sorrento Valley, right off the 805. Not too shabby. There are a lot of good food places around there too! But last night was my very last Loudspeaker show in our old studios. It was kinda sad. I spent the last 2 years in there learning and growing as a radio deejay. It was fun.

But now we are moving everything and I will be doing the very first live show at the new studio this Sunday Jan 31st and very excited about it. 2010 is going to be a VERY busy year for me and Loudspeaker. Many, many projects in the works. It will be exciting. Sooo keep your ears and eyes open.

The Soft Pack leaked all over the place.

The new self titled album from The Soft Pack leaked onto the interwebs today. Here's the link if you're feeling naughty and want it a month early...you know you want it.

Click here for the new Soft Pack album

I will most likely be playing the entire album on 91X Sunday night during Loudspeaker. It's a great album.

San Diego bands to look for in 2010.

Over Christmas vacation I flew to Austin, Texas to visit my mama and step dad. To be honest, I don't do too much reading, I'm still at the Boxcar Children and Hardy Boys level, but I do like to grab a few magazines when I fly.  The January issue of SPIN and Alternative Press were the two that I collected.

They both had similar articles on what bands to look out for in 2010.

AP magazine had a section titled The Most Anticipated Albums of 2010. The article started with a 6 page article about the new My Chemical Romance album (totally understandable, they sell out giant arenas). Other major bands also mentioned; Anberlin, The Get Up Kids, The Gaslight Anthem, Motion City Soundtrack, etc. As I thumbed thru I came across some familiar faces, Pierce The Veil! From right here in San Diego!

Their album is due out in Spring 2010 put out by Equal Vision. They also were just announced
to be playing on this years Warped Tour. WT hits San Diego on June 24th, check them out!

Now onto the SPIN. I figured that this article was going to be a little bit more obscure. That's just the nature of SPIN magazine. It was titled A Look Ahead 2010 and it mainly focused on up and coming bands that are making a lot of noise in their respective regions. I sort of fly thru the article so see any familiar names, sure enough, I see The Soft Pack

Hands down one my new favorite bands on any level. Still claiming San Diego, The Soft Pack have been around for a few years now, formally The Muslims, and have really been trucking along and getting some national and international buzz. Their debut album on Kemado Records should be out in the next few months. Here is video for a track off of the new album, song is "Answer To Yourself".
